About

In May of 2010, a group of six guys from Lexington, Kentucky, set out to leave a mark on their local music scene. The sextet named themselves ‘Cascades’ and after a few lineup changes, realized their musical direction, drawing stylistic influence from post-hardcore bands of the last decade, and adding their own experimental flair. Thanks to their dedication playing shows around Lexington, Cascades developed a modest following around central Kentucky. This hard work led to the opportunity of performing at the 2011 Ichthus Music Festival located in Wilmore, Kentucky. Upon the arrival of 2012, the members of Cascades began taking steps toward their first official release. After two months of planning the group took a five day trip to the hip town of Goshen, Indiana, to record their first extended play release. Upon completion of the recording process, the band worked with producers Cameron Mizell and Jake Garland of Chango Studios (Sleeping with Sirens, Memphis May Fire, Hands like Houses) for the mixing, mastering, and production. This five song EP titled “Faceless People in Faraway Places” is planned to be self-released in early July of 2012. As the future approaches, Cascades intends to travel the country in support of their release as a means to continue the growth and development of their fan-base.

Is this band still a thing? I just heard of them a few weeks ago after hearing them cover White Blank Page by Mumford and Sons and it was amazing. I've been listening to them nonstop since but I can't find anything about them. Does anyone know if they're still a band or what not? xx
