"The Kraken of the Gainesville music scene that lies in an ocean of college students and Cyprus trees. If Danzig is one of the horsemen of the Apocalypse, he's probably riding in on a Nanerpus." Nanerpus began in 2009 when Erik Shuping (guitar,vocals) and Dana Merry (guitar, vocals), joined up with James Kocher (Bass, vocals) and Eric Popper (drums) to form a hard edged band with a music style that has elements that draw from each members musical interests. Old school heavy metal, punk rock, power rock and 90's grunge are drawn together to form a sound that is powerful and unique. The band is based in Gainesville, Florida and plays often in their home town with the occasional sojourn to nearby cities like Tampa and Tallahassee. 2010 saw the release of the first Ep entitled "Wrath of the Moon" and every show brings new fans to the 'Nanernation'.
